During her three-month research stay at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, our PhD student Janina Güntzel successfully participated in this year's research forum of the Australian Centre for Excellence in Antarctic Science (ACEAS), which took place from November 5 to 7, 2025, in Hobart, Tasmania. Together with Timo Mühlberger-Krause (PhD student in AWI Geophysics), Janina won the poster prize for Early Career Researchers (ECR). Both are working on geoscientific data sets from the FS Polarstern-EASI expeditions in order to decipher the glacial and climate history of East Antarctica more reliably.
