The Alfred Wegener institute maintains different infrastructures to support research in remote areas. The research stations - partly maintained and used in cooperation with other international institutes: Neumayer Station III, AWIPEV Arctic-research base, Kohnen Station, Marine Stations Helgoland and Sylt.
