University Courses

Modern equipped course rooms can be used for teaching purposes as part of scientific courses and workshops. There are two course rooms at the Helgoland Marine Station with 20 and 25 equipped workstations respectively. Binoculars, gooseneck lamps and microscopes are available. Various aids for working with living organisms such as tubs, aquariums, glassware etc. are provided. Unfortunately, we cannot provide dissecting sets and laboratory consumables. Basins with seawater flow are available in which living organisms can be kept. The course rooms are each equipped with a small library (approx. 100 books) with identification literature and various textbooks. The modern multimedia system enables images from binoculars and microscopes to be displayed on large monitors. Access to our network is possible via eduroam. We can also set up temporary access to our guest network for you.

If required, we can also provide a 4 m² constant temperature room with seawater flow and a laboratory with basic equipment. Both the use of the constant temperature room and the laboratory must be registered in advance with the guest research coordinator (Anna.Bergmann@awi.de, Tel.: 04725-819 3136). The contact person for technical questions is Uwe Nettelmann (Uwe.Nettelmann@awi.de, tel.: 04725-819 3200).
