Exhibition “Stars of Polar Night”
The exhibition “Stars of Polar Night” by AWI photographer Esther Horvath officially opened on 22 April at the Hungarian Natural History Museum in Budapest.
The photo exhibition, organized by the Robert Capa Contemporary Photography Center, offers unique insights into the lives and daily research routines of scientists working in one of the most remote places on Earth – the Arctic. The focus is on the French-German Arctic Research Base AWIPEV and the international Research Station in Ny-Ålesund, Svalbard. Through her images, Esther Horvath documents the work and challenges during the polar night, while also highlighting the vital importance of polar research for understanding our planet.
It will remain on display until 31 July 2026.
