Lecture "Schnee von Gestern"

As part of the exhibition “Die stille Revolte der Dinge – Schenkung Schröder”, a lecture by two glaciologists from the Alfred-Wegener-Institut will take place at the Kunstmuseum Bremerhaven. The lecture offers insights into current research on the ice sheets of the polar regions and their significance for understanding past and future climate change. Each layer of snow that compacts into glacial ice over thousands of years preserves information about the climatic conditions at the time it fell. From microscopic ice crystals to kilometre-long ice streams, the scientists Dr Maria Hörhold and Dr Daniela Jansen investigate the ice of the polar regions in order to reconstruct the history of climate and ice sheets.

Admission is free.
