PhD title: Predicting bird migrations and its potential for pathogen spread and the associated risks

(Scholarship from Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt)

1) Migration ecology and global change: Studying how migratory birds respond to environmental change using large-scale models and flyway-level analyses.

2) Wildlife disease dynamics: Modeling infection processes and avian influenza spread in migratory systems to improve risk assessment and develop predictive tools.

3) Deep learning and simulations: Applying neural networks and large ecological datasets to automate analyses and simulate ecological processes on different scales.
