Explore Science Bremen
From 11 to 13 September, the “Explore Science” festival, organized by the Klaus Tschira Association, will take place in Bremen. With Explore Science, the Klaus Tschira Association aims to spark young people's interest in scientific topics and promote networking between scientific institutions and schools.
Local partner institutions from the fields of research, education and science, as well as partner schools, will offer numerous hands-on stations and experiments on the topic of “Future STEM”.
The Alfred Wegener Institute presents the following topics:
How is climate research conducted? What exciting careers are involved in research? How do researchers actually work in the ice – when it is so cold there that technology has to be rethought? What happens to the huge amounts of data collected during expeditions and how are climate models created from them?
You can discover this for yourself at Expedition STEM! Immerse yourself in the world of marine and polar research at the Alfred Wegener Institute and find out how diverse STEM – science, technology, engineering and mathematics – is in research. At interactive stations, you can experiment for yourself and explore exciting scientific phenomena. You can also try on polar clothing and take a souvenir photo in front of an ice landscape! Expedition STEM provides an insight into the diverse professions in science – with opportunities to participate and try things out.
