Developing a Mobile Fish Transport System with Integrated Water Treatment
The Aquaculture Research Group at AWI is conducting this research together with Zordel Fischhandels GmbH and The Lower Saxony State Authority for Consumer Protection and Food Safety's (Niedersächsischen Landesamt für Verbraucherschutz und Lebensmittelsicherheit - LAVES) - Institute for Fish and Fisheries Products in Cuxhaven (IFF).
The FiT project aims to make targetted use of modern and compact filtration systems during live fish trasports. This is intended to markedly improve the water quality and to obtain an even greater level of fish comfort and improve the economic viability of transport, all the time ensuring food quality and safety requirements are thoroughly fulfilled.
