On the 20th and 21st of September 2018 the BMBF Chile Day took place in the University Club Bonn. During the event around 120 scientists discussed their activities in Chile, made new contacts and learned about funding opportunities.
In the afternoon of the first day, the participants met in specialist groups on the subject areas of life sciences, geosciences and marine research, engineering and the humanities and social sciences. In a panel discussion on the second day, which Doris Abele has been a part of, experts commented on the current state of selected German-Chilean projects: Here multilateral projects and best practice examples of German-Chilean cooperation were in focus. Also DYNAMO was mentioned throughout this discussion: as a positive example of a current trilateral cooperation (D-Chile-Argentina). Finally, the presentation of the results of the expert groups in plenary offered the participants an overview of the diversity of topics and the potential of German-Chilean cooperation.
