FluxWin: Greenhouse gas emissions in permafrost regions

Claire Treat from the Alfred Wegener Institute, Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research (AWI) in Potsdam is head of the new junior research group FluxWin. Using a combination of scientific methods, she is investigating greenhouse gas emissions in permafrost regions during different vegetation periods. Her project is supported by the renowned individual funding of the European Research Council (ERC).

Prof Hans-Otto Pörtner, Co-Chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Working Group II and Head of the Integrative Ecophysiology Section at the Alfred Wegener Institute, Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research in Bremerhaven, has been selected as a new member of the European Academy of Sciences (EurASc).
