Maritime Technologies
Not only all living things originated from water, water is also an important economic sector for the future. While oceans have been served primarily as a food resource and a way for global transportation, they have been gaining increasing importance for the development and application of high-technologies recently. As location for large offshore wind energy turbines, as energy source and as supplier of raw materials, oceans and coastal sea also open up a wide range of research fields and activity fields, for example, as a place for the cultivation of aquatic animals or as model of biological processes.
