Welcome back, Polarstern!

Note: The times may change at short notice

In the early morning of 12 October, the Polarstern returns to her home port of Bremerhaven. Due to the corona pandemic we could not plan a public event. However, Polarstern will sail with an escort fleet to the 'Seebäderkaje' and will turn once there at around 8:30 a.m. to show herself to the Bremerhaven public. You can probably best see Polarstern at the Lohmann dyke between 'Kaiserschleuse' and 'Sportbotschleuse', in front of the restaurant 'Strandhalle' and on the dyke promenade between water level indicator and 'Strandhalle'. In addition, tickets can be purchased through the city of Bremerhaven to sail towards Polarstern on the accompanying ships.

Note: The Container Look-out Platform will be closed for visitors on this day.

Live on the Internet

With a live stream we ensure that you can follow the event online. On our website awi.de as well as on our various social media channels you can follow the return (note, new time!) from about 7:25 a.m. (CEST):
