LTER-D (German Long-Term Ecological Research Network)
Network for long-term ecological research

The LTER-D network is intended to be a platform for communication, documentation and collaboration of scientists in long-term, system-oriented and interdisciplinary environmental research in Germany. Today, it covers 17 sites, with HAUSGARTEN observatory as the only open-ocean LTER site. LTER-D is a member in the international LTER umbrella organisation ILTER and in the European regional network LTER-Europe.

ArcticROOS (Arctic Regional Ocean Observing System)
Project within the GOOS/EuroGOOS initiative
Coordinator: Stein Sandven, Nansen Environmental and Remote Sensing Center (NERSC), Norway
An Arctic Regional Ocean Observing System (ArcticROOS) working with ocean observation and modelling systems for the Arctic Ocean and adjacent seas has been established within the EuroGOOS initiative. ArcticROOS will promote, develop and maintain operational monitoring and forecasting of ocean circulation, water masses, ocean surface conditions, sea ice and biological/chemical constituents.
