The micropaleontology laboratory conducts morphological analyses including extraction, microscopic preparation and taxonomic identification of microfossils from terrestrial plants e.g. pollen grains and aquatic organisms as diatoms and chironomids from lake sediment archives or permafrost deposits. Microfossils are used to investigate spatial and temporal changes and environmental reconstructions in Arctic terrestrial ecosystems.
- Laboratory is equipped for working steps with hydrofluoric acid
- Zeiss Axio microscopes, Zeiss Axiovert microscope with manipulator
