Hello from Neumayer – Station

Weather situation and outlook for destinations around:

General overview:
Low pressure system with centres 971hPa north of Novo at 68S 13E and 973hPa
northwest of Syowa at 68S 38E, moving east-northeast and weakening. Gale
967hPa at 55S 27E, removing east-southeast. Tonight southward extending
wedge of high pressure along 30W down to 70S, intensifying, shifting east.
Low 975hPa north-westernmost Weddell Sea, deepening to a wide gale, moving
east from Monday on.

Forecasts:
Syowa:
Saturday overcast, temporary light snow, wind 10-15kt from northeast.
Sunday broken clouds, improving to scattered, wind 10kt from northeast.
Monday and Tuesday few/scattered clouds, wind around 05kt from east to
northeast.

Utsteinen:
Saturday scattered clouds, later broken with low risk for light snow in the
evening, wind around 15kt from east to southeast, decreasing 10kt. Sunday
broken clouds, improving to few, wind 05-10kt from east. Monday and Tuesday
clear skies/few clouds, variable wind around 05kt.

Novo Station/Novo Runway/Maitri:
Saturday broken clouds only at first, clearing skies, wind 20-25kt from
southeast to south/light drifting snow, decreasing 10kt. From Sunday until
Monday plenty of sunshine, wind 05-10kt from southeast to south, at nights
up to 25kt. Tuesday clear skies, later few/scattered clouds, wind 15-20kt
from east, increasing a little.

Troll:
From Saturday until Monday alternating sunshine and harmless broken cloud
patches, variable wind around 05kt. Tuesday broken clouds, wind 10-15kt
from southeast, increasing a little.

Sanae:
Saturday broken clouds, wind around 15kt from southeast to east, decreasing
a little. Sunday scattered clouds, clearing, wind around 15kt from
southeast to east, increasing a little. Monday clear skies, later broken
clouds, wind around 20kt from east to southeast/drifting snow. Tuesday
becoming overcast, wind 20-25kt/drifting snow, from southeast to east,
incr. 30kt.

Neumayer:
Saturday passing harmless broken cloud patches, variable wind around 05kt.
Sunday fair with only temporary broken cloud patches, variable wind around
05kt. Monday overcast, onset of snow, wind 10kt from east, increasing
20-25kt/drifting snow. Tuesday overcast, light snow, wind 25kt from
east/blowing snow, increasing 35-40kt.
