Commercialisation Pathways

Research Co-operations

The AWI, or rather, the respective sections of AWI, join research co-operations with industry partners. That is, third-party funded (e.g. by Federal Ministries) research projects are caried out with industry partners.

Research co-operations ensure the practical relevance of the research conducted, the direct participation of the private sector in science and an improved excahnge between the research and the private sector.

Contract Research and Consultancy

Contract Research is a very effective way to directly and quickly transfer research findings into business applications. The inherent direct communication ensures that tailor-made solutions can be found in close collaboration and that the research is conducted target-oriented.

Consultancy addresses specific questions or problems and is offered by AWI through the knowledge and experience of its researchers in, e.g., expert opinions or dedicated reports.

Licensing

The AWI holds industrial and intellectualy property rights in different technologies and methods, which were developped within AWI's research. These can be commercialised, e.g. through licensing.

The Technology Transfer Office accompanies the licensing process with the interesed industry partners. Furthermore, the TTO fosters the commercialisation through its own business development activities and a vital network in different industry sectors.

If you have specific questions regarding AWI's know-how, please do not hesitate to contact us in the Technology Transfer Office.

Likewise, the staff of the TTO also help AWI researchers to find co-operation partners from the private sector.
