Polygon Lake Station

Bird's eye view of the Polygon Lake Station

In Summer 2006 we've installed a new gaging station in a half overgrown polygon lake.

Measurements in the open part of the lake as well as the overgrown part include:

  • Water level
  • Snow height
  • Temperature in different heigts over water level
  • Temperature in different depth under water level
  • Radiation

and in different shore parts

  • Soil moisture
  • Snow moisture
  • Soil temperature

Power is provided by a solar panel and two batteries and collected data is stored on a datalogger.
