Using the species list of "Flora and Fauna of the Northern Wadden Sea"
The "Flora and Fauna of the Northern Wadden Sea" is organized in 9 tables including subtables with main taxanomic groups. At the end of each table a list of cited references is available.
Each table contains three columns containing following abbreviations:
Location (area where the species was found)
N: recorded in the open North Sea
W: recorded in the Wadden Sea area
K: recorded also in Königshafen
Habitat (habitat where the species was found)
sm: salt marsh
b: sandy beach
it: intertidal zone
st: subtidal zone
sb: seagrass bed
mb: mussel bed
hs: hard substrate
dl: drift line only
Remarks (information on abundance, way of life etc.)
i: introduced species
d: no recent record; presumably demise
r: rare species (when 1 to 5 records only)
a: abundant species (when more than 5 records)Each table may contain special remarks which are explained on the table cover !
