Spectrophotometer - Spectral colour reflectance

Colour could reflect sediment composition and could be measured in high-resolution on the surface of the freshly cut core. Colour will be influenced by many factors and therefore interpretations should be done only in relationship with other measurements. We use a Minolta CM 2002 spectrophotometer for the measurements of colour reflectance. This instrument measures the visual light reflectance from 400 to 700 nanometres with a 10 nm resolution. Spot size has a diameter of one centimetre.
