- 234Th as tracer for export production
- ocean circulation and particle flux with the tracers 231Pa and 230Th
- Sediment focussing through the redistribution of 230Th including a special study on the effect of particle size on the 230Th normalization technique
- mixing in coastal waters and shelf-basin exchange
