Our research focuses on the analysis of different climate conditions in the past and the identification of driving mechanisms causing climate change.

Special research topis are feedback mechanisms in the climate system, the role of the global oceanic thermohaline circulation for climate variations, a better understanding of previous glacial times and warm stages as well as the climate of the Holocene.

In our studies, we use different models of the Earth system and statistical methods to analyse instrumental and proxy data.
