Ozone and Related Trace Gases

Our research deals with chemical and dynamical aspects related to trace gases like ozone and water vapour.  Main topics are:

Chemistry

  • Quantification of chemical ozone losses and loss rates in the polar stratosphere
  • Theoretical understanding of chemical ozone loss

Dynamics

  • Dynamical coupling between troposphere and stratosphere and impact on ozone variability
  • Quantification of the dynamical contribution to polar ozone variability
  • Detection of climate change signals in the polar stratosphere
