Expeditions and Campaigns
To persue the research topics repeated expeditions and long term data collection is required. The later is provided by the AWIPEV Arctic Research Base on Spitsbergen.
In addition we use the AWI aircraft Polar 5 for Airborne Campaigns.
Russian drifting ice stations on the Arctic Ocean, the “North Pole Drifting Stations” provide an observation platform and regular meteorological observations.
Ozone loss in the Arctic stratosphere is observed by internationally coordinated launches of ozone sondes in the Match approach.
