Shallow seismic investigations off northern Sylt

This is part of the recently formed sedimentology working group. First seismic surveys have been carried out in June 2002 testing GeoChirp and Sparker devices. Further investigations (including RoxAnn signal processor) will be done and soon be shown on this page.

Goals of the investigations include

• Determination of the Holocene base around northern Sylt including the Wadden Sea
• Characterization of bedforms
• Mapping of surface roughness (using RoxAnn)
