Venue

The conference will be organized by Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research in Bremerhaven, Germany. It will be held in Klimahaus, a public science center dealing with the world climate and one of the major sights in Bremerhaven.

How to reach Bremerhaven

By plane

Bremerhaven can be reached by plane via Bremen, Hamburg or Hannover.

From Bremen Airport the Tram No. 6 takes you to the main station. From there two trains per hour link Bremen and Bremerhaven. There is a ticket available from Bremen Airport to Bremerhaven which is valid in tram, train and bus and costs about EUR 11.

In Hamburg there is an S-Bahn service connecting the Airport to the Central railway station. From there you have two possibilities with trains - one via Bremen (with change at Bremen), and the other one using S-Bahn to Hamburg-Neugraben, and a local train from there to Bremerhaven.

In Hannover there is an S-Bahn connection to the central railway station. There is an hourly connection between Hannover main station and Bremerhaven via Bremen.

By train

Further connections to Bremerhaven main station may be obtained from the German Railways website.

By car

Bremerhaven is located at motorway A 27. The exit "Bremerhaven-Mitte" leads to the center of the city whereas exit "Bremerhaven-Geestemünde" provides a faster connection to AWI Building F (follow signs to the ferry across Weser river "Weser Fähre").
