Geochemical Laboratory of the Samoylov Station
Main Building
The total area of the main building is about 175 square metres. A part of the building is used by the local station leader of the Lena Delta Reserve (LDR).
About 140 square metres of it can be used by expedition parties. The available rooms include a kitchen, a sleeping room and two laboratories for scientific work.
The universal lab has a size of about 15 square metres and is equipped with two working benches with a total length of 6.5 m.
The second laboratory is about 12 square metres and equipped with a gas chromatograph (Chrompack CP-9003; FID, WLD) and a hydrogen generator (Domnick Hunter UHP-20H) for trace gas analyses. The length of the working benches is 6 m. Distilled water for extraction and sample preparation is provided by the Lena Delta Reserve in Tiksi.
Annex
The new annex has an area of 68 square metres, which is separated into three sleeping rooms (two 2 bed and one 1 bed) and a living room. Special attention was paid to the insulation of the annex to ensure possible future research activities in the Lena Delta also during the winter season.
Workshop
The well equiped workshop also has machines for friction sawing, welding and grinding.
Furthermore
Two motorboats for expeditions in the surrounding area are at the station.
A deep freezer is available for storage of samples.
