After more than 10 years of service of the java-based graphical tools offered here is terminated partly.  Only services with respect to a selected cruise is still working. As alternative the tools of the Data Publisher for Earth & Environmental Science PANGAEA are recommended. 

All meteorological data from Neumayer are also accessible via the following graphical Java-applets:

• Synoptic Observations (max. 2000)
• PODAS Data (max. 2000)
• Upper Air soundings: Mean Pressure Levels (max. 100)
• Upper Air Soundings: Full Height Resolutions (max. 5)

Please be patient, downloading a Java-applet will take time!

When the applet has started, you'll see a mercator projection displaying observations from every POLARSTERN cruise. The number of available observations selected on a map may be huge, see second number at the right hand side below the map. If the number of available observations exeeds a specific number, only a subset of observations will be displayed, see first number at the right hand side below the map. To reduce the number of selected observations, you must zoom into the map, choose a special cruise, select your desired time slice, or make any combination of these possibilities.

By pushing the button 'Parameters...' you can select the parameters of each observation you are interested in. When the displayed observation number is less than the specific number you can click on the button 'Get Data' to get a detailed list with the selected parameters. You can also click on a single data point in the map to get only the parameters of this single observation.

Attention: In case of server errors (esp. after "Get Data" of a cruise) try less parameters!
