Projects with children and young people on Helgoland

The Biological Institute Helgoland (BAH) organises several projects in the domain of science to promote young researchers. Therefore the BAH is working together with the local kindergarten (Ev. Kita "Windstärke 12") and the local school (James-Krüss-Schule) on Helgoland.

These projects cover different scientific topics, whereby the children and young people get an idea about the work of scientists.

The children in the kindergarten can find solutions to scientifical questions by easy hands-on experimentation.

In fourth grade the pupils have the chance to participate in a water project to compare marine and fresh water areas. Primary school pupils can attend a weekly science club organized by the BAH.

The students of 9th and 10th grade of the secondary school on Helgoland can choose an elective. Projects with a scientific issue can be co-organized and assisted by the BAH.
