Precision Salinometer

AWI scientists have developed one of the most precise salinometers ever. The temperature of the main bath is recorded together with the conductivity of the water sample with a precision better than one millikelvin. Conductivity measurements stops automatically in case of temperature drifts too high for valid measurements. This and other features of the instrument overcomes the problems with temperature dependend conductivity measurements.

The Precision Salinometer was further developed with an industrial cooperation. It is meanwhile commercially available and becomes more and more the gold standard for precise salt content determinations.
