Every second year, an AWI dive team stays for several month at Dallman Lab to support ongoing AWI research projects. To allow for an efficient and successul diver support during these expeditions, we ask you to providing detailed informations about your requirements and needs with respect to diver support. 

• For this, please submitt an AWI dive mission application (online) and all necessary documents at least 3 month prior to your stay if you ask diver support for your project.
• If you have any questions with respect to the dive procedures and dive shedules at AWIPEV base during your stay, please contact the AWI dive team leader for the AWIPEV base.

If you are a certified reserach diver (preferably European Scientific Diver) and want to be integrated in our dive team, please provide additional information about your diving experience. Additional information see here.

• For "certified European Scientific Divers" please fill out the ESD/AESD questionary for non-AWI scientific divers

• Scientific divers NOT certified as "European Scientific Divers" or "Advanced European Scientific Divers" have to provide additional information about their diving experience and qualification. For this, please fill out the questionary for non-ESD scientific divers.

• For a dive mission, the AWI provides the dive team leader and full technical support for the dive team (equippment). This support is charged with 75 € per dive request.

• The requestors for a dive has to provide:
  • Personal or financial support for at least two or (if necessary) more divers (a dive team comprises the dive team leader and at least two certifed divers).
  • If a group provides one or two adquately trained scientific divers, a proportinal reduction of the diving fee is possible. The dive mission leader is always provided by the AWI.
  • The fees for traveling and accomodation for the dive team members.

• The total costs for AWI diving support for a project is calculated by the dive team leader at the end of the stay (please see example here) and will be charged by invoice over the AWI in Bremerhaven. For this, the project leader has to provide an appropriate invoice address and signing for later cost transfer.
