Every year, an AWI dive team stays for several month at AWIPEV station to support ongoing AWI research projects. To allow for an efficient and successul diver support during these expeditions, we ask you to providing detailed informations about your requirements and needs with respect to diver support. • For this, please submitt an AWI dive mission application (online) if you ask diver support for your project.
• If you have any questions with respect to the dive procedures and dive shedules at AWIPEV base during your stay, please contact the AWI dive team leader for the AWIPEV base.

If you are a certified reserach diver (preferably European Scientific Diver) and want to be integrated in our dive team, please provide additional information about your diving experience. Additional information see here.

• For "certified European Scientific Divers" please fill out the ESD/AESD questionary for non-AWI scientific divers

• Scientific divers NOT certified as "European Scientific Divers" or "Advanced European Scientific Divers" have to provide additional information about their diving experience and qualification. For this, please fill out the questionary for non-ESD scientific divers.

• Diver support at AWIPEV base is charged with 75 € per dive.
• If the project asking for diver support provides 1 (or 2) own and qualified scientific diver(s) joining the AWI dive team, the cost will be reduces by 1/3 (2/3) to 50 € (25 €) per dive. The dive team leader however will always by provided by the AWI (Scientific divers planned to join the AWI dive team during their stay at AWIPEV have to be registered and accepted in advance by the head of the AWI CSD during the application procedure. A later nomination of divers is NOT possible).
• The total costs for AWI diver support for a project are calculated by the dive team leader at the end of the stay (please see example here) and will be charged by invoice over the AWI in Bremerhaven. For this, the project leader has to provide an appropriate invoice address and signing for later cost transfer.
