NEEM

The North Greenland Eemian Ice Drilling - NEEM - is an international ice core research project. As the previous deep drilling projects GRIP and NorthGRIP did not retrieve the full sequence of Eemian ice (ice from the previous interglacial), the aim of NEEM is obtaining an ice core from North-West Greenland (camp position 77.45°N 51.06°W) reaching back through the Eemian. The project is managed by the Centre for Ice and Climate, Denmark.

National representative of Germany for NEEM is Dr. Sepp Kipfstuhl.
