Our goal is to create of a low barrier OAI framework for (a) publishing quality-controlled  information on plankton (network of data providers) and for (b) disseminating this information together with taxonomic and environmental data (service provider)

The PLANKTON*NET project has received funding for a period of 24 months under the Sixth EU Framework Programme to set up an OAI-based resource consisting of a network of data providers and associated data portal.  In addition, PLANKTON*NET records are cross-referenced with environmental data archived in WDC-MARE/PANGAEA. and various publication repositories.
